Active Youth Agency (AYA) was founded in 2004 by youths of Greater Mundri Counties to strengthen and build the capacity of the war affected people of Southern Sudan in issues pertaining to their development. AYA works through various programes works in various sectors and envisages healthy, harmonious and vibrant society in South Sudan.
Health
We provide Health Education with emphasis on HIV/AIDS awareness raising, prevention and control, water and sanitation
improving livelihoods
Livelihoods services targeting community capacity building and empowerment through training, extension services and provision of basic inputs
Gender based programs
Protection (Gender mainstreaming, GBV, child protection and disability). This aims at improving access, response and promotion of services to disadvantaged groups.
Active Youth Agency aspires to see people of South Sudan living a healthy, harmonious and vibrant society.
Our purpose is to empower and strengthen the local communities and create environment for development.
We build the capacity of communities through advocacy and communication, socio-economic activities, health etc.

Our Background:
Active Youth Agency (AYA) formally known as Mundri Active Youth Association(MAYA) is among the oldest Youth Organizations in South Sudan. It was founded on 10th November 2004 by youths of Greater Mundri Counties to strengthen and build the capacity of the war affected people of Southern Sudan in issues pertaining to their development. In its 21 years of existence, AYA has collaborated with more than 9 partner organizations and implemented over 15 community projects, but not limited to, health, education, food security, child protection and women empowerment.
